Lately, I've been a busy bee with Christmas and all! No projects because Christmas was my project. And the last couple days have been catch-up and relaxing and enjoying my family. I don't know about you, but by Sunday evening I was EXHAUSTED -- in a good way! Despite the little sleep and nonstop action, it was all worth it to see my family enjoy the Christmas festivities. The big day was on a Sunday this year, which made it extra special. I can't think of a better way to celebrate the birth of Christ.
A few highlights,
In other news, I haven't been able to find the baby Jesus to our nativity set for the past three weeks! I searched and searched and had pretty much given up. Then on Christmas morning, as Adi was opening her stocking, she screamed, "mommy, mommy, I found baby Jesus!" To my surprise -- stuffed at the bottom of her stocking -- there he was. I must have checked the stockings like 20 times. I think it was fitting, He was "born on Christmas day."
Merry Christmas! Our BIG present to the girls this year was a brand-new puppy! Isn't he a cutie pie? His name is Tebow and he is a nine-week-old Miniature Beagle. The whole family is just in love with him! This is our first family dog so I am knee-deep in potty training materials. Any and all advice you have is much appreciated! I would love to have both Tebow and Gabby, our two-year-old, potty trained by time baby Daniel arrives in March! I'm going to be busy! :)
And now for the AMAZING news! I received an email this morning from Cassity at Remodelaholic who told me how much she loved my Mini Bedroom Makeover and that she was going to feature it on her and her husband's site today! Ahhhhhhhh! That's me screaming in excitement! Her family is such an inspiration! Be sure to check out their blog for a wealth of DIY knowledge. I could rummage through their archives and never run out of inspiration to glean from. You can see my featured post here!
Lots of love,
Mary
Lots of congrats are in order. I saw your feature. It was wonderful. The new puppy is cute as can be! Oh my, what a love. Tebow... great name! That puppy will have big shoes to fill ;) Happy New Year.
Just saw your bedroom makeover on DIY Show Off and left a comment there; I also wanted to check out your blog so I've been browsing around here. The verdict: LOVE IT! Way to go, Mary! I'll be following you by Google Friends and email!
PS: With the experience of having at least 3 dogs at one time, and having a potty training toddler in the mix, I will email you soon about getting EVERYONE potty trained! :)
Oh My! Your new puppy is SOOO cute!!!! I am a dog-aholic and have 2 wonderful pups. My suggestion for potty training is to bell train! This is how I have done all of my dogs and it works beautifully. Just put a small bell on the door and every time you take him outside - hit the bell. Eventually, he'll start hitting the bell on his own. Works like a charm! :) Good luck.
PS- I am in LOVE with your blog!
where do i start? your place is so cool...but to that puppy. PUPPY POTTY PADS saved us. We have a small place, renting and no fenced in yard so my (20lb) chihuahua is indoors with mom and dad. (yes, he is twenty lbs...sigh)lol...but potty trained perfectly.
Even when we moved the pads three times. When he ate we'd put him on the pad. When he had accidents we would move him to the pad. Now he's four years old today and he sleeps with us..he even gets up in the middle of the night and goes to where his potty pad is.
:)
Love the bedroom makeover! As far as puppy training, I totally second the bell idea - worked like a charm on our puppy. Trained in about a day once we started the bell, and he used that bell for a while. It was too fun! We just used a big jingle bell on a string. Good luck!
